Viscosity set: Pistons in oil and water-filled glass tubes. The apparatus consists of two vertical tubes, one filled with water and one filled with oil. Two metal plungers of identical mass and dimensions are placed, one in each of the tubes. The plunger in water sinks about twice as fast as the one in oil. MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF MATERIALS.
